Matlock & Lumsdale

Matlock, Derbys. Sat 29 Dec 2018

Baileys Mill, Bentley Brook, Matlock has been converted into housing

Flats here seem very reasonably priced to those of us from London

I took the footpath across the river beside Bailey's mill and walked back to Matlock Green

past a rather surprising 1930s house

and up Church St to St Giles Church in Old Matlock, high above the newer town

A view down from the churchyard of Matlock Green. I could see the bus stop in front of the Red Lion

A former cinema is now an Indian restuarant

Lights in the park on the bandstand

 and that Indian restuarant

Matlock Bridge over the Derwent from the park

 Dale Road

 Shops on Dale Rd

The railway bridge over the Derwent from Dale Rd

a footbridge goes over the river to Hall Leys Park

and that shop close to the Red Lion again

 Later in the park

 and on Dale Rd

 Snitterton Rd

 Causeway Lane

 Matlock Green

And looking up to St Giles from Matlock Green
