Matlock - Oker Hill

Oker Hill, nr Matlock, Derbys. Fri 28 Dec 2018

One of the easier stretches of mud - most of time I was too busy trying to keep upright to take pictures

The view roughly to the east as we climbed to the top

and roughly to the southwest towards Oker village.

I wondered if these might have been Roman walkways. Or perhaps from the lead mining or minor landslips

Will Shore's sycamore (or possibly a replacement)

The path led on north-west to another summit and the trig point, but we didn't go on

A few yards down the hill we could see Riber Castle on the hilltop south of Matlock

 Grace's Well

Ashton Farm and a distant view of the Derwent
