London flooded with Santas
Covent Garden, London. Sat 8th December 2018
By now I was having to use flash
and the elves were moving around quite a lot
as I pholtographed them
We were now on Upper St Marin's Lane - and it was full of Santas
though this was on ly one of four groups that had different start
points for the Santacon charity event
The music was coming from a speaker on a wheelie bin
and I think most of the energy was running on alchol. Certainly everyone
was very merry and happy to be photographed

And of course people performed for the camera
At Trafalgar Square the sound system took them to the pavement around the
new crypt entrance to St Martin's. I
went on to Trafalgar Square where there were just a few santas around Nelson's
column, then caught a bus going
along the Strand. From the top deck I found this was also full of santas
stanidng around pubs and fast food shops
and making their way west. I thought about getting off the bus but decided
I'd photographed enough santas for
this year.
