THe procession goes down Aldwych with a huge banner calling for £3billion
a year for cycling
To avoid the protests in the centre of London it takes a route down
to the Embankment
and then goes along the Embankment to Parliament
From the bridge by Embankment station
The protesters had hoped to be able to go onto Westminster Bridge,
but instead went to Parliament Square, though the police tried to
stop them - but were told they had permission to march
Donnachadh McCarthy in Parliament Square
where he makes a short address introducing the die-in
and people lie down in front of the Houses of Parliament with their
bikes for a ten minute silent vigil
At the end of ten minutes people are asked to get up
and the procession continues to Smith Square for a rally, but I leave to
go to another protest
