Stop Arming Saudi to bomb Yemen

Downing St, London. Fri 22 Jun 2018

I was late due to travel problems and missed the speeches at the start of the rally

Britain profilts from selling arms that are used by the Saudis in Yemen to back the government there

The UK has sold the Saudis arms worth £4.6 billion since the conflict in Yemen began

Lindsey German leads a small delegation who have gone to hand in a letter at the gates of Downing St

 They wait at the gates

Eventually the police tell them they will not take the letter

to the disgust of Lindsey German. You have to arrange several days in advance, which makes it impossible to

respond to emergencies such as the assault by Saudi-backed government forces on the Yemeni port of Hodeidah.

The delegation comes back to report what happened

And Lindsey German reads out the letter that they wanted to sent to Theresa May

and the protest ends
