for an Amnesty for migrants and an end to charter flight
which have deported many who should have been allowed to stay, at
least until their cases were properly dealt with
The want detention centres closed. Detention makes it difficult for
people to fight their case but many are finally
released and given leave to stay. Some have been held for three years,
never knowing if today or tomorrow they
may be forced onto a plane to be deported or release - or just left
in the detention centre to rot, often abused by staff.
Many of those active with Movement for Justice have themselves previously
been locked up for months
'Detention is Torture - Shut them all down' MfJ has organised many
protests outside detention centres, and
helped to stop people getting deported.
