There were several brief but heavy showers of snow giving a light
sprinkling on the pavement and cars
but it rapidly melted on the towpath
there was still a little on the landing stage

traces around an office building. On the site of Ashby's Brewery,
it became Courages HQ before being updated into this
Clarence St retains some of its old character as the entrance to Staines
from the new bridge
though the owners of the property by the River Colne are clearly hoping
that neglect will get them permission to demolish
Spelthorne Council gave this former town hall away - and it will now
be converted into expensive flats. It should
have been retained as a community resource, but the council saved pennies
to lose a fine property
One of the few decent and relevant pieces of sculpture on the Staines
sculpture trail is this one of the Swan Master
The Swan uppers still come through here every year in July.
At this scale the tiny coating of snow on one of the statues isn't
visible
a geometric garden
This small tinware works closed years ago and has not yet been redeveloped.
I think it is probably still classifed as
agricultural land, but it would be good to see some sensible use - perhaps
much needed social housing - here.
