![]() The chimney by Brown's Houses is thought to be from a copper smelting works ![]() Possibly the remains of another quay ![]() Brown's Houses ![]() ![]() ![]() The view across to Quaker's Stang and Crag Foot. Stang is possibly a corruption of 'etang' or pond and Quaker of quicksand ![]() We climbed up a steep hill - Heald Brow with occasional views through the trees and brambles ![]() and crossed Hollins Lane into the paths to Scout Wood. It began to look like a storm was approaching, so at Stankelt Road we took the path to the church and then rushed back to where we were staying ![]() There were just a few drops of rain before we got back, but 20 minutes later it poured down. ![]() |
