Withernsea to Aldbrough

Sat 22 Sep 2012

The cliff top with a slide down of a few feet at the edge of the field

The barrier at the end of the road was a handy place to eat our lunch

Part of the military defences has slid from the cliff top and is now on the beach

The coast curves around in the distance going out to Flamborough head

The fence gets quite close to the cliff edge at places, but we could still walk past,
though we had to climb down to the bottom of a deep drainage ditch and up again

The structure in the sea is close to the underground gas storage area inland at Aldbrough

Perhaps a prehistoric site?

Dried mud where large vehicles from the gas storage plant have gone down to the beach

We had to detour around a building site associated with the gas storage to get to see East Newton in the distance

and at East Newton we got on to the road to Aldbrough
