Medmenham Walk

Medmenham, nr Marlow, Bucks. Monday 19 March 2012

The Dog & Badger is a nice pub but more likely dates from around 1590 rather than 1390 in this place

Parts of the chuch are probably Saxon but it was heavily Puginised in 1839.

Pleasant cottages, probably early 20th century in Medmenham

The guns that ended the siege of Ladysmith - naval guns were taken a very long way cross-country

Some impressive tree trimming and some older cottages

A very imposing driveway and private road

The River Thames

view downstream

and upstream

The monument to the ferry being declared a public right of way in court in 1899.
But now it operates strictly on a bring your own boat basis!
