Grenfell Silent Walk - 6 months on
London, UK. 14th December 2017
I was late arriving at Notting Hill Methodist and the silent march
was starting early, with people already
in line behind the banner
grieving relatives and those who escaped from the flames and local
clergy
Police and stewards understanably keep the media away from the front
of the march and it was very dark
and difficult to take pictures
One marcher holds a poster 'F**K social cleansing'
others have white roses and photographs of some of those who died
in the blazing tower
many hold green battery candles too
and others carry large green heart-shapes for Grenfell
Some have message 'JUST US' , 'GRENFELL', 'JUSTICE'.
The march proceeds slowly and in silence along the street

Many feel the official inquiry will not get at the truth about why
the tower was made into a huge fire risk
despite the warnings of some who lived there, which the TMO and Kensington
and Chelsea Council ignored
even threatening legal action against some people who brought up the
issues
A banner says 'Fight For Justice' and the community will not get it unless
they keep on fighting
