Stand Up To Racism and the FLA
Downing St, London. Sat 7 Oct 2017
It wasn't, said Stand Up to Racism, a counter demonstration, though
it did look rather like one
but it was very badly attended
'Football For All'
'No TO Islamophobia'
'
Stand Up to Racism'
'One Game, One Community'
'Unity is our Strength'
NUT General Secretary Kevin Courtney
'Show Racism the RED CARD'
Stand up to Racism supporters try to had out a flier to the marchers, but
are largely met by shouted insults
and threats, though a few take the leaflet and read it
while others tear it up - and take more to tear up
Friends hold back people who want to attack the people hading out
leaflets
Others watch the marchers from a little way back, holding placards
and banners
Police eject a FLA supporter from the protest by Stand Up to Racism
and another
A woman shouts at me accusing me of calling here and the FLA and racist.
Which I hadn't done
Some of the protesters tried to get the marchers to move on and not
engage with the counter-protest
But eventually police had to move in and push the FLA away
