After some minutes outside the barriers at the council offices people
pushed them down and climbed up the steps
but a row of security and police were soon in place to stop more than
a few going in.
the shouting continued, and some banged on the windows
While some stayed at the front of the building, some had gone around
to try a side entrance and then on to
the large glass windows at the back of the council offices, where
they were shouting and banging on the glass

I began to get worried as the glass was moving a lot as people banged and
it seemed likely to break
