Images on this page are all roughly 145 degree panoramic views. They have
a 'normal' 1.5:1 aspect ratio because the vertical field of view is also
very large - around 90 degrees. The normal 'rectilinear' view used in photography
cannot cope with such a wide angle of view and objects near the edges of
the picture would appear very stretched. Instead these pictures use a 'cylindrical'
perspective which avoids this stretching but results in non-vertical lines
being curved, the curvature increasing above and below the centre line of
the image.
The visual effect can be reduced by cropping the images at top and bottom,
but in this set of images I've preferred to keep the whole image.
