Act Up invade NHS to demand PrEP

Skipton House, Elephant, London. Tue 29 Mar 2016

The protesters continue to shout noisily and bang saucepans

Some of the protesters stop security staff from closing the outside security gates

which they argue are meant to be kept open when the building is in use for safety reasons

They stand in front of them to prevent them being closed

People continue to enter and leave the building despite the protest

Someone brings the Act Up London banner inside and opensit up. Another protester

takes hold of the other end. Its messages are clear: 'PrEP Works; Silence = Death;United in Anger; Not Silence, Love'

with people carrying placards against a backdrop of London

Protesters use the megaphone to make clear to all in the building why they have come. PrEP should be

made available now - to stop people dying.

After just over 10 minutes inside, the protesters decide it is time to leave and walk out

 with the banner

and continue the protest outside

Half a dozen police officers arrive - it took them over 12 minutes to respond to the call

A police officer talks to one of the protesters who is wearing a jacket with 'Supreme Court' on theback

A student nurse speaks at the protest

'How many more transmissions before you start listening? Where is PrEP? Delay is going to cause many more to die

At the end of the protest most of theAct Up London group posed for a photograph - some had already left,
others didn't want to be in the picture

One of them held a pink spotted phallus
