NCAFC 'Grants Not Debt' Blocks Bridge

Students march down Bridge St led by a man with a megaphone

Behind him comes the Bowie lyrics from 'Changes': 'And these children that you spat on as they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations, They're quite away of what they're going through'

The protesters walk into the road on Westminster Bridge and stop the traffic

holdin up banners, 'Grants Not Debt'

and 'No Grants = No Bridge'

A woman holds the poster naming and shaming the 10 MPs whose votes axed the grants

People sit on the roadway. Some bang pans to make a noise. A poster reads 'Stop the CU*TS'.

'Save Our Grants -Save Our Future'

 'Our Future's F**ked'
 
A police officer tries to talk to Shelly Asquith who is speaking through a megaphone

and she ignores him

Eventually he gave up and moved away

and the protesters continued to shout for 'Grants Not Debt'

Police managed to move the student from the north-bound carriage way and stood in a line along the middle of the road

and more stood across the road at both ends of the protest

People were still protesting noisily but the numbers had dropped a little when I left.
