Christmas Solidarity Vigil for Refugees

Downing St, London. Sat 12 Dec 2015

Refugees Welcome Here - people say the UK is accepting too few refugees and doing so too slowly

Trying to light nightlights on the wall

turned out to be difficult, and they blew out very quickly in a strong and gusty wind

Refugees need help - and our government is not doing enough

Candles also kept getting blown out

people cupped their hands around the flames but they still blew out quickly

so plastic cups were used to make wind shields around the candles

'Canada 25K in one year - Britain 20K in five years WHY?' asked one poster. The UK is not doing enough for refugees
