Refugees Welcome, Arms Dealers NOT

Excel London, Royal Victoria Dock. Fri 11 Sep 2015

A campaigner in a gas mask holds a poster for lorry drivers to read 'Stop Killing Human Beings'

Paper boats on the fencing around Excel with messages about the war refugees who are drowning on their way to Europe

Briefing for the 'Alternative Border Farce'

Some of them had labels and placards

A small group move into the road in front of an oncoming lorry

and others come to join them

they stand or sit in the road to bring the lorry to a halt

Police come on to the road and tell them to get off it, dragging them away if they do not move

sometimes fairly roughly

Some of the protesters complain to police about the way they are being treated

As some are moved off, others return to the road

'Refugees Welcome; Merchants of Death Need Not Apply' is the opposite of UK government policy

and eventually, around 4 minutes later, the lorry got through
