DPAC blocks Westminster Bridge

Westminster Bridge. Wed 8 Jul 2015

There was something of a carnival atmosphere on Westminster Bridge despite the anger many feel at Tory cuts

The 23 metre long banner is brought up onto the bridge

and stretches right across - forcing even cyclists to stop

It is so wide that it's hard to get a clear view of it all

There was a small gap made at the edge so pedestrians could pass

 but traffic was completely stopped

Protesters and a young boy dancing in front of the banner

A woman holds up a placard with two balloons and the message 'Cutsucker'

and the balls have messages against excessive wealth and inflated egos

Paula Peters calls for the protesters to move to Parliament

and leads the protesters and the huge banner in her chariot past Boudicea in her chariot.
