CPOs for Southwark Councillors

Elephant to Southwark Council Offices, London. Thur Oct 16 2014

Council estates like this one in inner-city London are a prime target for developers who can make huge profits if councils get rid of the tenants for them

The march comes to London Bridge station

and the Southwark council offices in Tooley St

There was a short rally outside the council offices

with speakers including Jasmine Stone

Liliana Dmitrovic of the 'People's Republic of Southwark' is stopped as she tried to go into the council offices to deliver
the three three letters calling for the compulsory purchase of the homes of Council leader Peter John and two other councillors.

Liliana and another activist wait in the council offices to hand over the letters

Eventually Stephen Douglas from Southwark Council comes to tell the two protesters that all of the
three councillors named on the letters are currently in meetings
and he takes the letters, promising to deliver them personally to the councillors.

Having handed in the letters,Liliana Dmitrovic talks to the police about the People's Compulsroy Purchase Orders
and the allegations of councillors accepting gifts from the developers and their relationships with the developers.
