Defend UoL Garden Halls workers

Senate House, London. Fri 23 May 2014

Protesters gather outside the Senate House

and walk in with banners and posters to the covered area at the bottom of the building

The face the main door so that everyone coming in and out can see them

and start to make a lot of noise and make clear what they want - proper treatement for the workers at the

University Garden Halls of Residence who are being made redundant. Many have worked in the Halls for

years, serving the University - which seems to care nothing for them.

The employers refuse to talk to the union (IWGB) that the cleaners and some other workers belong to

the IWGB wants the workers to be redployed to other sites in the University where there are vacancies

or at least for them to retain the same wages abd working conditions they have gained in recent actions
at other sites where they could work for the company

and of course for the company to recognise the IWGB.

London University deny any responsibility for the workers - some of whom have worked there for more than 10 years

'I took out the Rubbish - now I'm being through out!!!'
