 Rowland Hill, taken on the anniversary of the first adhesive postage stamp he introduced, the Penny Black, which went on sale May 6, 1840

Goldsmiths' Hall Garden, Gresham Street 

 

The leopard's head hallmark has been in use to certify silver at the Goldsmith's Hall since the 14th century 

Shakespeare and a memorial to the two men who preserved his work in the 'First Folio'
