This picture was taken from the road as police would not allow me to stand on the wide empty pavement. It was a senseless gesture that exposed me
     
to the dangerous traffic that came in bursts around the square. Had I started standing on the road, they would almost certainly have told me to move on to the pavement for safety reasons. The other photographer at the event got the same treatment. I think we deserve better from our police force. It does just seem to be a few middle-ranking officers who have it in for photographers; at times those who actually have to carry out the orders apologise to me if their senior officer isn't around. At one event, one guy told me he'd been called in and given a telling off for talking to me on an earlier demo.
