Bethnal Green Canal Walk

Cambridge Heath to Bow, London. Fri 17 May 2019

I started by going down from Mare St and walked towards the two rail bridges

then turned around back towards Mare St

Between Mare St and Old Ford Rd is is '4 Pound Path'

I first walked along here while the path was closed and they were running the high voltage cables under it

The cables are cooled by the canal water

 Old Ford Lock

 Old Ford Rd

The Hertford Union canal runs from here to the Lea Navigation

There is a wide basin at the canal junction

I continued beside the Hertford Union

The former veneer factory houses the Chisenhale gallery and artists studios

The canal runs along the south edge of Victoria Park

I turned around and walked back to Grove Rd where I left the canal. View west from the bridge

and towards the east.
