Occupy vs the Arms Fair

Eastern Gateway, ExCel Centre, London. Sun 8 Sep 2013

Soon there are quite a few people feigning dead on the road outside the gate to the ExCel centre

People begin to chalk around the bodies

Then we get another really heavy shower and people get up, then some move to the dryish patch under the DLR viaduct

Others start to sing

The police get new orders

They surround those sitting on the ground

and tell them they have a choice. They can get up and leave now, or they will be arrested

Those who decide to stay are cautioned and arrested

then led

or carried

away to a grass area nearby, where after further questions they were taken to police vans.
Most of those arrested were Christian pacifists.

I left at this point, returning for a short visit later in the week.
