Victory Celebration at Vedanta AGM

London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square. Thu 1 Aug 2013

Earlier in the morning came news that the 9th of the 12 village councils had rejected Vedanta's application to mine

Also at the protest were those opposed to plans for opencast mining in Bangladesh

A protester with a portrait of the Indian billionaire founder and Executive Chairman of Vedanta, Anil Agarwal with the slogan 'Blood on Your Hands'

 Drummers at the protest

'Take your Goddamn Refinery and Leave' - a quotation from Arundhati Roy

There was plenty of noisy chanting against Vedanta and Agarwal

Police tried to get all the protesters to move across the road

Eventually most of the protesters went into the pen opposite the hotel, leaving just a single line opposite so the pavement was not blocked
