World March For Peace and Nonviolence

London, Sunday 18 October 2009

In Trafalgar Square we were met by two 'Heritage Wardens'

Who stopped the peace march, saying it could not walk through Trafalgar Square

Although it is a traditional place for protests in London, apparently you now need permission to protest

Even though the square was deliberately excluded from the area in which protests were banned under SOCPA

The action by the wardens meant the march actually stopped for around ten minutes on the steps rather than simply walking through!

Before walking around the outside of the square and across into Whitehall
