Plumstead & Woolwich

Plumstead, Thamesmead West, River Thames, 28 June, 2009

A front garden in Plumstead

A splendid block with the 1896 Plumstead Almshouses in the distance at right. The newer buildings. although looking typically 1930s are said to be replacement for those of the 1896 buildings destroyed by bombing in the 1940s.

This was the 19th annual Mela on Plumstead Common

Camelot Castle, home of "celebrity gangster Dave Courtney", who was made bankrupt in May, owing £400,000

including an estimated £250,000 to HM Revenue & Customs - shouldn't patriots be pleased to pay taxes?

The gates are decorated with knuckledusters and a shield and the blue plaque says 'Dave Courtney OBE lived here' - where stands for "One Big Ego - also after his name on the shield in the smaller gate in top picture.

Church of Christ the King

Merlin Tyres. Is it coincidence that Merlin was one of the six main characters of Camelot?
