Tamils March Against Sri Lankan Genocide

Westminster, London. Saturday 31 Jan, 2009

Slowly the march moved on. Police did try to hurry it, but there were too many people for them to have much effect

  At Horseferry Road

The march seemed to get stuck again coming up past Victoria Gardens

so I went to talk to the people waiting for it at Parliament Square - then ate my sandwiches in Old Palace Yard

By the time I'd finished the front of the march was outside the Houses of Parliament

Among the marchers was Tamil Sri Lankan MP, M K Shivaji Lingam of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA)

As each group of marchers arrived at Bridge St they sat down for a few minutes

before moving on. A few tried to go onto Westminster Bridge while I was there, but police forced them back
