	Iona: the Weekly Pilgrimage August 12, 2008        The pilgrimage starts at one of the crosses outside the Abbey, then goes to the nunnery and up the hill track towards the crossroads
	The only crossroads on Iona is one of the places where the pilgrims stop for a brief reflection
	Another stop where Malcolm, the warden of the Iona Community at the Abbey addresses the pilgrims
	There were roughly 80 pilgrims at the start but some took an easier route which avoided bogs and scrambles
	The pilgrims got quite spread out at times
	We made our way down to the marble quarry - Iona marble is in the font and altar in the Abbey church
			Waste rock at the harbour for the quarry
			The rock seemed even blacker in real life
