The Journey from Iona

Aug 15, 2008

Our bus again stopped at Inverary, but this time it was hardly raining

And we could see the bridge and the hill behind with its tower on top fairly clearly

  The main street in Inverary

  Tourist traps

We didn't have time for the funfair

Or the castle, although we got a glimpse of it as the bus went over thebridge.
Our journey back was fortunately uneventful - a few minutes late in Glasgow, perhaps some extra traffic caused by the pipe band festival taking place - we saw a few pipers as our bus went past the piping centre, but we still arrived before the train from Oban which some of our friends were on. Then down to Glasgow Central for the London train - which despite losing time in Scotland managed to arrive in Euston around 10 minutes early (thanks to slack timetabling that gives the service 25 minutes to travel from Watford to London - which some ofther Pendolinos are timetabled at 16 minutes.)
