April Bio-Fools Day, London

Downing St, London. Tuesday 15 April, 2008

The police had refused permission for the demonstration to use megaphones under SOCPA

It was very hard for those in the pen to hear the speakers above the noise of passing traffic

Most of those present stood on the pavement outside the pen so they could hear the speakers

Police tried to stop people speaking standing on the wall, but there was no way they could otherwise have been heard, and the event organiser refused to comply with the police request, claiming it an attack on free speech.

The speakers continued and the police took no immediate action

Although many were standing on the pavement, a clear path was left to allow people through.
